RRM Montgomery Release Records

Residential Reentry Management Montgomery is a Bureau of Prisons reentry office at Maxwell Air Force Base. It matters because a federal person can be outside a prison camp while still moving through BOP residential reentry, home confinement, or final-release calculations. Verification starts with the BOP locator and, when needed, the federal docket.

Reentry Before Final Release

RRM Montgomery manages federal residential reentry matters rather than county jail bookings. A person may be in the community through an RRM placement and still have BOP-managed release conditions before the sentence expires. That is different from a Montgomery County jail release, an ADOC discharge, or ABPP state supervision.

The public BOP locator remains the correct first check. If the person came from Federal Prison Camp Montgomery, the locator may show a projected or past release date. If a local Montgomery County booking also existed, that separate county record must be requested through the sheriff or checked through court records.

How to Confirm RRM Status

  1. Search the BOP inmate locator for the federal record and Release Date field.
  2. Use the federal criminal docket to understand whether a court order, sentence, or supervision event explains the custody change.
  3. Contact RRM Montgomery for facility-specific direction when the person is connected to residential reentry in the Montgomery region.
  4. Do not use the Montgomery County current-inmate page as proof of federal release; it covers the local jail system.

About Federal Reentry Management

RRM Montgomery is part of the federal release path in the same local geography as the county detention facility, ADOC offices, ICE, and USMS. The practical question is whether the person is still in a federal custody structure, fully released from BOP, or under another court authority. The answer generally comes from BOP, the federal court, and RRM contacts, not local jail roster status.

Community Placement Is Still Federal

RRM Montgomery is important because federal release can happen in stages. A person may leave a prison camp and enter a residential reentry center, home confinement, or another community-placement arrangement before the final sentence-expiration date. From the outside, that can look like a release because the person is no longer at FPC Montgomery. For records purposes, however, it may still be a BOP-managed custody stage. The public question is not just where the person is physically located, but whether BOP still controls the release timeline.

That distinction keeps the search path accurate. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office portal cannot tell whether a federal person is in RRM placement. ADOC and Alabama VNS cannot calculate a BOP release date. ABPP does not supervise federal reentry. RRM Montgomery, the BOP locator, and the federal docket are the proper sources for federal community placement. If a person also had a local arrest, the county jail record should be used only to document the county booking, release, or transfer event.

BOP Locator and Reentry Records

The BOP locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward and generally displays a Release Date field. For a person moving through RRM Montgomery, the locator may show a projected release date, a past release date, or a custody status that needs federal context. A projected federal date is not permanent. BOP's release-date explanation warns that sentence reviews and recalculations, including First Step Act review, can affect dates. Users should revisit the locator if the date is future or if the court case has changed.

RRM pages do not replace the federal docket. A docket can show the judgment, amended sentence, revocation, or court order that explains why someone moved into or out of federal custody. If the issue is whether the person was moved from FPC Montgomery to reentry placement, use BOP and RRM. If the issue is whether the sentence ended or a release order was entered, use the federal case record. These are separate public clues that should be reconciled before drawing a conclusion.

When Montgomery Records Overlap

Montgomery has county, state, federal, ICE, and parole systems close together, so a single name can appear in more than one record family. A person could be arrested locally, transferred to USMS, sentenced federally, housed at FPC Montgomery, moved through RRM Montgomery, and then show a BOP release date. Each step has its own custodian. The sheriff handles the local booking. USMS handles federal transport and detention before BOP placement. BOP and RRM handle federal custody and reentry. The court explains the legal authority for the sentence or release.

For older or ambiguous cases, collect identifiers before contacting agencies: full name, date of birth, federal register number if known, case number, booking number if a local arrest exists, and approximate dates. Asking narrowly for a federal reentry or release-status record is more useful than asking a local agency for a broad history. If the person has already completed BOP custody, the locator and federal records path remain the most direct release confirmation.
